Refractory project/site Manager - Industrial construction


POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will accept bid packages; assist in gathering, calculating and compiling of data for use in bid proposals; assist in the assembly of proposal packages; assist the company director in reviewing job progress on paper and in person; order required material, hardware, consumables, tools, equipment, etc.;.
Specific responsibilities will include:
Receive, review, and understand full spectrum of RFQ bid documents.
Apply take-off quantities into an estimating spreadsheet in order to develop bid costs for use in proposals.
Assist in preparation of proposal documents, inspections, general sales and supplier negotiations
Maintain files of working documents to serve as a back-up to the estimate.
Assist in preparation of cost analysis reports on a regular basis for record keeping and presentation to management as necessary.
Participate in developing current project updates to include, but not limited to the following:
   - Updating bill of material quantities?
   - Developing recovery schedules?
   - Tracking project progress as percent complete?
   - Tracking project progress in terms of qualifying productivities?
   - Determining estimated vs. actual for various project statistics
Prepare progress requests (invoices) for submittal to customer as directed by the company president and follow up with customer to ensure prompt payment is received for work completed.
Write various correspondences to customers & owners on matters of importance per direction of the company director.
Participate in evaluation of completed jobs and compile accurate cost histories for use in future estimates.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in engineering or construction management or construction related field or equivalent.
Previous experience in industrial construction preferred; refractory knowledge.
Ability to read drawings.
Ability to perform quantitative take-offs / estimate via drawings or field surveys.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and computer skills.
Proven successful oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong detail orientation, accuracy a must.
Other traits we are seeking: self-motivated, sense of urgency, reliable, persistent, quick learner with the ability to readily assimilate and retain new knowledge.
Must have proven ability to handle several tasks and projects simultaneously.
Must be able to travel 33% of time.
Leadership aptitude and interest.
Strong business acumen.

Work environment includes visits to industrial facilities indoors and out in all kinds of weather. Noise levels will be moderate to high. Various pieces of equipment will be in operation with bells, whistles and alarms sounding. Will occasionally access areas in confined space and at heights using ladders and stairways.

Entry level refractory Engineer – Refractory business


Liz Italiana is currently seeking entry-level refractory engineer to expand and support its Genoa office.
This technical role involves sales and service support for the high temperature product (Refractories) for the Iron and Steel, Glass, Cement, Lime, Petrochemical,… industry.  This position requires a Technical degree (engineering) or equivalent experience, preferred.

The main responsibilities will be:
Service and Technical support at sites, with refractory applications and installations.
Provide expertise on products as well as their applications
Increase market share for the services and applications
Build relationships with new and existing customers

The main requirements are:
BS in Engineering or Materials Science is preferred.
Previous experience with refractory applications and installations is desired.
0-3 year’s sales experience in an industrial applications or steel making is desired.
Strong communication skills.
Strong decision-making skills with the ability to relate to customers at all levels of operations.
Experience with AutoCAD and understanding drawings preferred.
Technical ability to understand product data and material safety datasheets.
50% travel is required
Fluency in English complete the profile
